I'm Anita Merrigan, a fine art photographer based in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. My passion for photography began in 2005 in St. Louis, Missouri, as a hobby merging art and science while working as an attorney. My curiosity about the natural world led me to become a Missouri Master Naturalist in 2007, opening doors to meaningful volunteer and learning opportunities.
In 2011, I moved to Lake Pontchartrain's north shore and earned my Louisiana Master Naturalist certification in 2015. I volunteered with Friends of Southeast Louisiana Wildlife Refuges and served on their board. In 2018, I moved to Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and began exploring and photographing the landscape. Since then, I've traveled extensively throughout the region, photographing diverse locations.
My work has earned recognition through awards and exhibitions. I'm an active member of the St. Louis Camera Club and Steamboat Creates. My love of the natural world guides my photography.
